Q1. What is the primary aim of Work and Study In Singapore?

When you enrol for this programme your primary objective is to Work In Singapore. Harriet Career Consulatancy (HCC) work with employers who are looking for people to hire.

For those who do not have work experience and no qualifications, can you go on your own to knock on the doors of these employers? The answer is yes, but it would be very difficult, meaning that your chances would be very slim.

Imagine that you are an employer. If someone came directly to apply for a job wouldn’t you be thinking “Who are you?”.

However, HCC have worked with these reputable employers and when we introduce you to them you are put in good light. They know that you are going to them to get a job and at the same time you are upgrading your skills and qualifications.

You are guaranteed to be interviewed by these employers, depending on whether you want to be employed in the Travel, Tourism and Hospitality industry (one of the hottest industry at the moment).

HCC will link you up. The employers will interview you and if they like you they will recruit you.  You’ll then become their direct employee.  You’re not Harriet’s employee.

You’ll be paid a full time salary and get all the staff benefits as per what they’ll give to any of their employees as well.

Q2. Is it really essential to get a Qualification.

Some of you may want to be in a particular industry like the Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Industry or be a Nurse in the Healtcare industry but may not have the right skill set.

What will happen after you have worked for say three, four or five years and you still have only your “O” level or “SPM” certificate?

That’s right, you cannot progress very much further. You would suddenly find a new colleague with a Diploma get promoted ahead of you. How would you feel?

Wouldn’t it be better if you could work and at the same time take the opportunity to upgrade yourself? HCC has collaborated with about 70 employers to allow our Work And Study in Singapore candidates to work full time and study on a part time basis, i.e. one day a week.

In this way you can at least get a Diploma after two years, to match your experience, so that you can progress further easily.

Thus the Work and Study in Singapore Programme whereby you can work and at the same time pursue higher education works very well for those with “O” or “N” level and those with SPM.

For those who already have a degree and want to switch career, they may take up our Senior Management Trainee Work and Study Programme.

Q3. What’s the differece between doing a Work And Study In Singapore Programme at Harriet Educational Group compared with just doing an Academic Course?

In other Schools you will get to Study and then look for a job during your vacations to get some pocket money. Well that pocket money will not be enough to pay for your school fees.

So you will experience a total cash out flow throughout your years of study.

It is only in Work And Study where you’ll get Full Time Salary in your pocket and/or bank account. You’ll only need to take a small portion to pay up whatever loan instalments from your bank or clan association or community self-help group or your relatives etc.

And you’ll still have some money left over to spend.

Your Full Time Salary will help you to get pass your one or two years.

On top of that with your Qualification and Skill you can move higer up the career ladder.

By the way, if you’re still not convinced that the Work And Study way is the way to go and want to simply take up an Academic Course you may also do it at Harriet Business School which offers the surest and lowest cost path to obtain a University Degree or a Master Degree.
